Hello All,
Well we didn’t have the rain we were hoping for to water all the bits of potting-up we may have been doing BUT we can only be delighted with the forecast for this coming week. Can you imagine being shut in for all this time and for it to have been grey and miserable!
Overheard recently: ’Social Isolation does not mean you have to change into a couch potato… sitting is the new smoking!’ Yes, we do need to keep those joints moving.
Country Crest Deliveries…The following will be going up on our website -Country Crest Farm Shop are so sorry but unfortunately, just at this point in time, due to huge demand, limited resources and a small shop space, they cannot do prepared collections or deliveries of food. They are trying to resolve the issue to be able to resume even in a limited way for those who really, really need their services and have to cocoon. As soon as we have anything to report we will be back!
Anyone can be a gardener – grow your own tomatoes. We grew a crop of cherry tomatoes last year, first time tried it by slicing up from fresh ones and potting it. Just loosely covered with soil. Did the same this year too, planted seeds from fresh just over 2 weeks ago and already 2 inches high and growing nicely indoors. There used to be such mystery about growing tomatoes successfully you may be a sceptic but check it out here. https://www.thriftyfun.com/Growing-Tomatoes-From-Slices.html
The Fingal Support Line from last week is not just for the cocooners – it is for all of us during lockdown. The number is 1800 459059 and operates from 8 – 8, 7 days a week. (If there is any help needed for deliveries and collections, they will take your details and arrange it for you). And can direct you to other supports.
